Ah yes, bliss balls… balls of bliss… Get your mind out of the gutter and try to stay with me. If you live a busy lifestyle, love to snack and are looking for a healthy option you can grab and go…listen up sista. This recipe is so simple, and takes barely any time at all. Soon you will be laughing at how ridiculously easy it is to be snackin’ on these balls all day long.
So, what is so healthy about these sexylicious balls of bliss? Let’s talk almonds. These badboys are a rich source of proteins and omega 3 essential fatty acids. They are also considered an alkaline food. In the book ‘The pH miracle for weight loss” the authors Robert and Shelley Young claim that people are overweight because of an over acidic diet. They go on to say, “Too much acid in the body robs the blood of oxygen, and without oxygen the metabolism slows.” Wow. That is some sexylicous information being thrown at you. Check out their book for more info on the acidity/alkalinity of the standard American/Canadian diet.
To recap this sexylicious snack of balls ’r’ us: they’re easy to make, you don’t need to prepare anything ahead of time, oh and the best part… almonds are sexy. But just like I mentioned last week (with avocados), almonds should be consumed in moderation. Try not to eat your entire batch all at once! Share those sexylicious balls with those you love. Share the balls, share the love, share your sexylicious self.
Sexylicious Bliss balls
1 cup raw almonds – chopped
¼ cup sesame seeds – chopped
1 tablespoon of Tahini
1 tablespoon Almond butter
1 tablespoon Agave
Handful of pitted dates- I like to heat these before with a little TINY bit of water, and give them a good mix, it makes them softer and easier to work with. If your balls turn out really soft, it’s because you used too much water.
Stick everything (except coconut) into a bowl (or even a blender if that floats your boat). After you are finished, roll balls into a size of your preference, coat them with coconut and stick ‘em in the fridge or the freezer!
Happy sexylicious bliss ball day!
